D R A G O N F L Y Are you wondering about the name of this thing, Dragonfly? Well, here's the background on it: I came up with by combining two of Cid's underlying themes when it came to abilities. He had the dragoon-esque Jumps and his pilot-type skills; instant name-o! Together they came to either "Dragoon Pilot" or "Dragonfly." Hmm, I think I made the right choice in the end. Anyway, I did a little bit of research on the symbolism/meaning behind dragonflies and found some nifty information. Dragonflies are believed in folklore to have once been dragons themselves and the prescence of dragonflies attract dragons. They are powerful fliers with brilliantly-colored bodies; these insects can be found all over the earth. In terms of meanings, dragonflies symbolize going past self-created illusions that limit growth and change, themselves being a symbol of change. Dragonflies are also a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity but sometimes they are tied to dreams. Magically, the name "dragonfly" conjures up the principles of longevity, durability, adaptability, power and freedom. The dragonfly, fierce hunter of the insect world. What seemed like hours upon hours, she waited. Then finally the familiar truck came down the road. Her dad was there to pick her up. That is except when he had to go work in the soybean or wheat fields. Her dad would only let her ride the tractor with him for a short way. Then, he would tell Elisa she had to get off. That was okay with Elisa though because he always dropped her off at Grandmas garden. Elisa loved helping her Grandma [really it was her Great-Grandmother, her dads Grandma, but every one just plain called her Grandma] in the garden. She particularly liked picking red, ripe, juicy tomatoes off the vine, wipe them off on Grandmas apron and pour salt on them, and the two of them would eat them right there in the garden....
